Aristargos is a complex and structured white blend - big and bold, but balanced - with nectarines, citrus pith and honey suckle, and a minerally finish. Sounds simple enough... but simple it is not! Extraordinary wine.

Why do we love this wine?
Hailing from South Africa’s Swartland region, David & Nadia are an absolute power couple of wine, part of a new generation of ecological producers. Following the practises of organic farming and hands-off winemaking, David and Nadia simply guide the wine from grape to bottle, and do so exceptionally well. This is a complex blend (and not in a way that is at all unapproachable) with chenin blanc as the hero. The parcels of fruit from predominantly old vine plantings go to french oak barrels for 11 months to build texture, weight, and an all round delicious touch. We could drink this every night of the week, if it weren't in such short supply.

Christian Eedes
47% Chenin Blanc, 11% Semillon, 9% Verdelho, 7% Clairette Blanche, 7% Roussanne, 6% Grenache Blanc, 6% Marsanne, 5% Colombar and 2% Viognier. Subtle and elusive aromatics of pear, peach, citrus, hay and flowers while the palate has great fruit expression and bright acidity, the finish lightly grippy. Taut and detailed, a wine of finesse if not quite the same intensity as the previous vintage. Alc: 12.5%

VinoMasters
Complex and compelling, with lime flower, grapefruit and beeswax joined by ginger and subtle savoury notes. The palate is layered and textural, with excellent freshness providing tension beneath the richer fruit. A honeyed, gently savoury finish adds further complexity. Try with a creamy prawn risotto. 12.5% Vino Masters Score: 95 / 100 ★★★★★
